Highly esteemed lords, this year’s festival will host the German historical Theatre Theater Vagant with a fun medieval game for both young and old: The Egg Cracker (Der Eierknacker).

In a big city, there is a quarrel among those resident who want things to change and those who are happy with the way things are and their peaceful lives.

In 1927, Laško already possessed market rights for 700 years and it was time to take another step forward. The most influential market people wrote a polite letter to their ruler, King Aleksander I. Karađorđević, who granter their request and on 17 July 1927 a decree was passed based on which Laško became a town and the inhabitants of Laško became townsfolk.

Members of the Horticultural Society tried to choose the flowers according to modern trends, but the usual hot temperatures during the festival also need to be considered when choosing suitable flowers. This was also the case this year.

This year’s horticultural exhibition with the title “STAY SURROUNDED BY FLOWERS!” will be presented on two locations. The first part will include arrangements by small and big local garden centres and will be placed on the lawn in front of the Laško Cultural Centre.

The exhibition of handcraft in the House of Generations is prepared by members of the bobbin lacemaking group Kitice and the Society of Disabled Persons Laško.

On festival Thursday at 9 p.m., the Jubilejnik stage is always reserved for the official opening of the festival. This year, we intend to continue this tradition.

Probably the biggest visual spectacle is the Fire and Water Multimedia Show as titled by the organisers at the 10th anniversary of the show. All the previous nine shows were unique and featured original music and stories written especially for this occasion, and it will remain so also in the future.

Uhica is a very eager and curious owl and she reads books whenever she can, especially those with beautiful pictures of the world that surrounds us. When someday in a thick book she discovers the strange moon that every night shines from the dark sky, Uhica decides: “I will find the moon! My moon!
